I am so excited!
It's my turn to put up my blocks!
There have been so many beautiful ones, so inventive and creative.

I love being an American!  I love waving the flag!

So here goes.....

I love pinwheels!  And this fabric reminded me of Civil War times.  The soft muted red, rich blue and florals.  I bought enough of this fabric to continue making blocks.  I would love to make and finish a quilt for the Quilts of Valor.  Our veterans deserve our tributes.

Then for fun....
I did this....

Everyone who knows me, knows I love my "lil twister".  So I decided to play a little.
It was fun and made me smile.

Be sure you go and enjoy the others that are being posted today.

Super talented women.

Thank you Madame Samm and Jane for hosting this blog hop and for allowing me to participate.

I am so blessed.....

My mug rug partner, Anthea, over at Hibiscus Stitches, sent me these stunning mug rugs all the way from Australia!  They are too beautiful to ever set a coffee cup on!  I have them up on my sewing room wall just to enjoy!  I expected something pretty....just not this pretty!

She checked out my website, chose gardening fabrics, threw in some fabulous embroidery and lace from her Grandmother's stash and I am thrilled!

I also have already tried some of the Australian tea and it was great.

Her package is on the way....I am always late with everything....and I hope she likes it as well as I liked hers!

I try harder....this is my gift to my Pokeno partner this month....finally got the binding sewed down.

Hope she likes it!

Have a great day!  I know I will!

A Pig in a Poke!

That's what my grandmother used to say....when you bought something sight unseen!  Some on you might be too young to know what a "poke" is.....that's what they used to call a brown bag!

I can't wait to see what my partner sends me!

Want to join....today is the last day to sign up....so jump on over to In The Bag to get your name on the list and start looking for your ugly fabric.

What!?!....you say you don't have any ugly fabric.....that's what I said....but I bet I can find 2 yards of some that I am not really in love with!

Have a great day!

I am embarrassed and so surprised and excited at the same time.

Before my trip to Florida, I received a surprise in the mail and I forgot to blog about it.  Shame on me!  It really made my day and it was a complete surprise!
Quite a while ago I signed up for "Pay It Forward" with Harriet over at Harriet Homemaker Strikes Again.  Honestly I barely remember signing up.  But Harriet didn't forget and she sent me the cutest package just full of goodies.....

There was a cute, cute, cute little package of cards that she made (I have already used one of them as a thank you card), a wonderful pouch in great colors (used it on my trip to Florida), two "Stay Put Kitchen Towels" (that are way too pretty to wipe my hands on) and of course a little candy which I really enjoyed.  Thank you Harriet, you made my day and I can't wait to "Pay It Forward"!

So sign up if you would like to receive a package from me filled with goodies!  I will leave the sign up open until Friday.  Saturday I will pick someone to surprise!  I love sending fun things to others.

I also forgot to post a picture of what I sent my winners in the Leap Day Blog....

I promised a "smile bag" filled with goodies and I fulfilled that promise.  I placed a matching mug rug and pincushion in each bag and I also sneaked in some other little goodies.  Penny won this cat bag and Sue Smiles Alot won my second one, which I am embarrassed to admit I forgot to take a picture of.  Sue liked batiks, so I sent her a bag made with beautiful blue batiks also stuffed with a mug rut, pincushion and other goodies.  Both have sent me the sweetest thank you notes in my e-mail.  That was so much fun.....I want to do it again really soon.

Now don't forget to send me a comment if you would like to be in the running for my "Pay It Forward" gift.
Have a great day!

Go! for a Star

As Americans we are so blessed to have brave men and women who put their life on the line so that we  have the freedom to do the things we love day in and day out.  They have my love and prayers.  I only have a few hours a day to sew, but I am going to try to at least put a few blocks in the pot so that those who are dedicated to making Quilts of Valor can hopefully use them.  Won't you join in!  Visit Majorie's Quilting Bee for the rules and visit each of the bloggers who are offering prizes.  You don't have to make a whole quilt, just a block or two will help out.  Each of us have had loved ones who have served our country and this is a chance to give back just a little.  Have a blessed day!

I am so humbled....

Ida over at My Sister Made Me Do It......nominated me for this really sweet award and I am humbled.  Now I have to nominate five other fabulous blogs to receive it from me.  How fun!  But can I pick just five?  I follow so many blogs and I have learned so much from all of them.  It took me forever to decide I needed a blog because I was afraid I didn't have the time to keep one up and guess what....it is hard....but mainly because I spend so much time oohing and awing over everyones talent and generosity.  It took me a couple of hours to go thru my list and choose....

That was hard!
But these ladies are very talented, funny and inspiring.  Stop by and visit them!

I have so many things to blog about right now....I can't decide what to do next...
but here is a hint....

It's kinda hard to sew with this outside the balcony doors....
but sew we did!

Have a great day everyone!

Great news everyone!

I also write and publish the blog for Mama's Quilt Shop, named Bits and Pieces and we are participating in the Blog Hop that the Quilting Gallery is running.  It ends tomorrow morning and we have 155 followers so far and over 220 comments that have been left for us.

Brenda has generously agreed to give away a beautiful fan of fat quarters to our winner.....but wait....she is so excited about our 155 followers and she wants more (200 to be exact) that she told me she will make one of  our followers a little more excited.  So she upped the ante....

and now one of our followers is going to win this great prize....a "Lil' Twister" ruler and 3 cute fat quarters.  The fabulous cream fat quarters can be won by anyone who comments on the Blog Hop giveaway, but the "Lil' Twister" will only be for one of our followers if we hit 200!

So if you haven't visited Bits and Pieces or Mama's Quilt Shop.....
what are you waiting for!

Get on over there and put your name in the hat.
You only have 1 more day...
we will pull the winner or winners name while we have coffee at the shop in the morning.

Now get going!
