Beat the Winter Blues....Oh yeah....

Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

I love it when Michelle over at the Quilting Gallery throws a blog hop party!  And I would be thrilled to beat the winter blues.  I live in Louisiana, so winter doesn't last too long here, but I can't wait for warmer weather.  I kinda hibernate when it's cold.  As soon as everything starts getting green and flowers start blooming, I come out of my shell.  This weekend daylight savings time roars in and the days will start getting longer....yeah!  I don't do well in the dark!

I am already touching my spring fabrics....yellows, pinks, greens....dreaming of spring flowers and the beach...oh my!  Our little group's mini-quilt retreat is scheduled for the second week in April, the condo is calling and I am packing and getting ready.

My boss tells me they have done some painting and moving of furniture and that I am going to love it.  Little does he know...they could put mattresses on the floor...and as long as I can see the ocean from the balcony....I would be as happy as a pig eating slop!

For those of you not raised in the South....that is happy!

Ok....I didn't find about this blog hop until yesterday and I had to work late last night...so I didn't get to make the project I wanted to show you....but I can show you one I taught other's to make at Christmas and let you imagine it in spring colors.....
This is Mike...one of our FEMA worker's who sewed with us every Saturday while he was here...he didn't think he wanted to make anything with a twister...well guess what!  He did and I was so proud of him.  Believe it or not, he is in Alaska now!  Talk about a change in weather!

I love this wreath and I am going to teach a class the first weekend of April and make it in spring colors.  Bright yellows, pinks, greens....spring colors.

Are you a "twister"?

It is my goal to show everyone how easy this is and how much fun!
I sold 48 of this at our booth in Houston last year just by showing everyone how fun they are.
So let me know if you "twist" and share your projects with me.
If you don't "twist" and would like to, then come back in the next few days and I will post photos of the spring wreath and how to make it.

I am going to give away one of these fun little tools and the fabric necessary to make your own spring wreath table topper to one lucky person in the U.S. at the end of the blog hop.
(Sorry overseas!  Last time I mailed something outside of the U.S., I thought I was going to have to take a loan and that is sad, because I would love to send things to all the fabulous blog hoppers in other countries.  You all so inspire me.)

So leave me a note telling me whether you "twist" or not!
Have fun hopping!

Today's the Day!

This hop gave us a darling new pattern by Amy Bradley (thanks Amy!) and tons of prizes collected by our amazing Madame Samm
 and our own fabulous cheerleader
Marlene

These blog hops are great....so many fabulous ideas come from them.  Be sure that you visit and try to leave everyone a comment!

I am scheduled for Monday the 25th and I am still working on mine, but I hope you will like it.  I got pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and let's just say I am not as young as I used to be and it is taking me a little longer to come back, but I am working on it.

So go visit, what are you waiting for!

Alright...I'll try anything to get more done...

Thearica over at Pigtales and Quilts is inviting all of us to join her in a push to complete more projects each month!  Now she bought this neat chalk board from Dreamstime, but me I will just list my five things that I would like to get finished in January and then link up with her.  And she's giving away prizes!  Go on over there and link up!

So here goes:
1.  Finish one embroidered block on my "Snow Crazy" embroidered quilt.
(Patty and I are doing this together (only in blue) this year.  The pattern is by Jana Davidson at Turnberry Lane)

2.  Finish one embroidered block on my "Bee Happy" embroidered quilt.
(Patty and I are doing this together too!  Pattern by Tricia Cribbs at Friend Folks)
Tricia of the fabulous "Turning Twenty" fame.
3.  Finish one panel on my embroidered table runner/quilt? with the little twister borders.
(Pattern "In the Meadow" by Jana Davidson at Turnberry Lane)

4.  Finish my garden club mug rugs I need for the May meeting.
(13 are done, need about 5 to 10 more)

5.  Prepare my "It's All About Me" wall hanging for Madam Samm's newest blog hop.
(Has to be ready to be posted February 21-28)
Check out the button on the right side of my page.

Linking up with Pigtales and Quilts!
Have a great day!

Fun, fun, fun

See that new  button on the right....."It's All About Me"!  How fun is this going to be!  I already have an idea about how I want to make myself look...hope I can pull it off.  Madame Samm is always coming up with the greatest ideas and Marlene Bush over at Stitchin by the Lake is one of my favorite bloggers.  Her's was probably one of the first five I started following.

I just finished participating in "In Your Words" blog hop, but I messed up and put it on Bits and Pieces the LQS blog.  But it was still so much fun and I got so many sweet replies.  If you would like to see my project hop on over.

You know, it's a new year, a fresh start! I have so many projects I want to do this year....sometimes it is a little overwhelming. So I decided to take one day at a time. Imagine that!
I have sewed or embroidered for at least an hour everyday this year so far.
I am so proud of me.
And I really am going to try and finish some of my UFO's. I promise, really!
But I just found out that two of my "adopted" children have decided to become one!
They are getting married at the end of March and I am so excited. Ashley has asked me to make her wedding invitations and I am honored. I love designing graphics.

Have a blessed day!
I know I will!
