Real rain is gone....but it's still raining mug rugs!

!Sew WE Quilt!
Thanks to Erin at Sew At Home Mummy

and our wonderful cheerleader,

Madame Samm over at Sew We Quilt!
I love mug rugs!  They make the best quick gift for anyone who needs a smile!
I use up my bigger scraps to make them.
I used my left over's from one of my wall hangings to make this happy little mug rug.  See the cute butterfly in the corner.  I love it....think I am going to keep it for my desk.  I do wish I had blanket-stitched around the butterfly....but maybe I will make another one!
Then you know me....I love my
I tried a square one with these few scraps....loved it....
I had left over's from my snowman rag I figured I try ragging one....also love it!
Will be great to set on my desk during the holidays.
Left-overs from a Christmas quilt I made....
and this one...
Just from my scraps...I love using them up this way.
Up until this point everything was going fine....and then...
Patty, at the LQS, made me two of these fabulous big for me and one to give to a friend...
and brilliant me decided to make a mug rug out of the scraps.....this was Monday....when I realized that I hadn't made any mug rug with "rain" on optimistic as usual...I decided I would whip up another mug rug.....of course...I forgot it was income tax I have been frantically trying to finish it....
I didn't get it finished, but I have to show it to you anyway....
I especially loved the embroidery...
and guess what...
This is where I am packing up to be starting Saturday...
sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine.... looking at this....
before we begin to do this...
That's's time for our spring sewing retreat in Florida...
I work for the most wonderful man in the world....
he owns this condo in Florida and he allows us to use it twice a year to sew, laugh, eat and relax for a week....I am so blessed!
We are leaving Saturday and I will not be back until the end of the as soon as I get back I will check out everyone else's mug rugs and leave comments....
I would tell you I would be thinking about you....but I would be lying....
Have a great day and go see what everyone else is doing....

      MONDAY, APRIL 8:

Wednesday, April 17
Thursday April 18
There were so many of us they had to extend the schedule!
I love mug rugs!  Can't wait to see what everyone is creating.
So put your rubber boots on and get ready to start hopping tomorrow, April 8th.

I "sew" enjoyed this.  My "covert Robin" was right on time and everyone at work wanted to see what was in my package!  Bet you do too!

All of these beautiful things came from Jennifer Lowe over at
Pigsinscarves.  Aren't they wonderful!  There were two beautiful placemats made with hexagons, a wonderful mug rug (everyone knows I love mug rugs) and a great dishcloth that was crocheted.
Thank you so much Jennifer!  You made my day!
Now, I'm not as good as Jennifer and my package did not arrive on the exact first of April!  But I so enjoyed preparing my swap partner's gift.  She had a birthday on March 1st!  I follow her blog and her pinterest pages.  That was fun.  I was able to see the things she loves.
So making her package up was easy!  So all of this went off to Julia at Blue-J Cottage.  Be sure you go over and see her cute blog and check out her pinterest pages!
She loves cats (like I do) so she is receiving a "smile" bag made with cute cat fabric (also printed out a copy of the instructions for her), a sweet cat "dust catcher" for her birthday, a cat notepad.  She likes Christmas so I sent her a table topper, a mug rug and a "little twister" tool.  I love using my little twister and I hope she will try it and love it too!
Thanks to Jane over at Buzzmills for putting together this swap!  It was so fun!
Have a great day.  I know I will!
